Welcome to the exciting 2025 Showcase season of ‘BALLET IN BOLERO ’ at the Adult Ballet Centre! This annual event is open to all of our amazing dancers at the Adult Ballet Centre. We warmly invite anyone interested in participating to join our extra rehearsal classes, which kick off six weeks before the Showcase on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the beautiful Shirley Burke Theatre in Parkdale.

Yes, it is that time of year to celebrate with the special person in your life; we are sharing this highly popular event run by the Adult Ballet Centre, open to all who wish to come along to have some fun, be social and take a ballet class together! We hold a special class every year for adult ballet dancers and others who are curious to try something different. Don’t be shy!!

This unique, fun event is for everyone who wants to celebrate being with a special partner, family member, or friend and share their passion or discover ballet while having lots of fun and celebrating love. All welcome!

Past Event- January 2025 - Pirouette Workshop Series Beginners/Intermediate Levels

Are you looking to land the perfect Pirouette, or maybe two or more? This open workshop series will run for three weeks starting in January 2025, every Wednesday at 8 p.m. All are welcome. It is for adult ballet dancers at the beginner and above levels.

The class before the workshop at the Level 3 Beginners is also open for booking if you want to warm up and swing a leg at the barre before you start on your pirouette masterclasses; this class begins at 6.30pm. Otherwise, you can join the workshop series at 8pm and pop in a little earlier to warm up in the studio.

This November, we invite you to join our exciting five-week Repertoire Series, open to all adult ballet dancer enthusiasts! This unique program offers the chance to learn and perform iconic pieces from two beloved classics: The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker. Whether you're an experienced dancer or just starting your ballet journey, this series will guide you through these timeless works' grace, elegance, and technical mastery.

The Sleeping Beauty's "Dream Variation” Level: Intermediate/Advanced Adult Ballet dancers Every Monday at 8 PM, starting Monday, 11 November

Optional in-studio performance Saturday, 14 December, 3.30pm

The Nutcracker's "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" Level: Beginner/Intermediate Adult Ballet dancers Every Thursday evening at 8 PM, starting Thursday, 14 November

Five-Week Booking Class Pass:

Past Event- OCTOBER - Adult Ballet Masterclass with Damian Smith – Former Principal Dancer of San Francisco Ballet

Join us on Sunday, 27 October, for an exclusive Adult Ballet Masterclass led by internationally renowned Damian Smith, former Principal Dancer of San Francisco Ballet. This is a unique opportunity to learn from one of our time's most celebrated ballet artists. Open to all adult ballet students, this masterclass will focus on technique, artistry, and the joy of connecting to the adult ballet community.

Class Schedule: Beginners: 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM (Three places remaining ) Learn in-depth ballet technique with a special focus on pirouette mastery. This 2.5-hour session will help you dive deeper into the fundamental aspects of ballet, improving your precision and confidence in turns.

Intermediate/Advanced: 1:30 PM—4:00 PM ( four places remaining) In this 2.5-hour session, immerse yourself in advanced ballet technique and explore the dynamic and fascinating world of male repertoire ( this is open to all genders, not just males). Elevate your skills while working on both technical and artistic aspects of ballet.

Contemporary Dance Masterclass

Limón technique

Elevate your dance technique and boost your confidence by joining an exclusive Masterclass led by Jennifer Fleenor-OBrien, former Principal Collaborator of CoisCéim Dance Theatre, Ireland, and the Artistic Director of UNLID.DANCE. This intensive session, focusing on the Limón technique, emphasising the natural rhythms, conscious use of breath, and the interplay between weight, is tailored for intermediate to advanced adult dancers and beginners classes—a unique opportunity to explore your movement and artistry.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to refine your skills under expert professional guidance. (no acrobatics or extreme movements designed for adult dancers for technique development)

This intensive session, focusing on Limón technique, is designed to enhance your ballet technique and movement quality.
