Begin with a Complimentary Trial Class
Begin with a Complimentary Trial Class
For adults in Melbourne considering regular training at Adult Ballet Centre, a complimentary trial class is the most supportive way to begin.
Whether you are stepping into ballet for the first time, returning after time away, or looking for a more structured adult ballet environment, your first class is designed to help you feel welcomed, guided, and confident in where to start.
At Adult Ballet Centre, we are dedicated exclusively to adult ballet training, with thoughtful level placement, professional teaching, and a studio culture that values discipline, encouragement, artistry, and meaningful connection.
Feeling nervous is completely normal
Many adults feel nervous before their first ballet class, especially if they are trying ballet for the first time or returning after many years away.
At ABC, you are not expected to already know what to do. You are not expected to look a certain way. And you are not expected to “keep up” without guidance.
You will be welcomed into an adult-only environment where learning is supported, corrections are constructive, and every dancer begins from where they are.
This is a place to begin with clarity, care, and confidence.
Who This Trial Is Designed For
Our complimentary trial class is designed for new adult students who are considering ongoing training with Adult Ballet Centre.
It is best suited to:
adults beginning ballet for the first time
returning dancers rebuilding confidence
adults seeking structured classical ballet training in Melbourne
prospective students wanting to find the right ABC level before committing
This trial is offered as an introduction to the studio and our training pathways. It is not intended as a casual drop-in.
You can book directly below on the calendar or via the complimentary trial class button
What happens when you arrive
When you arrive at the studio, you will be welcomed and guided through the space so you can settle in comfortably before class.
You can expect:
a calm and friendly adult-only studio environment
guidance on where to place your belongings
access to the powder room if you wish to change or freshen up
an introduction to the teacher and class setting
support in getting started, even if everything feels completely new
We recommend arriving around 10 minutes early for your first visit so you have time to settle in without feeling rushed.
What to Wear and Bring
You are welcome to attend in comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, such as activewear, yoga wear, or dancewear.
Please bring:
ballet shoes, if you have them
socks, if you are still getting started
a drink bottle
a small bag for your personal items
There is no pressure to wear traditional ballet attire for your first class.
Our aim is for you to feel comfortable, prepared, and at ease
What your first class will feel like
What to Expect in Your First Class
Your first class is not about perfection. It is about beginning.
You will be guided through the class in a structured and supportive way, with professional teaching that helps you understand what is happening and how to approach the work safely.
I love dancing here! Such a friendly environment with wonderful teachers who take the time to offer corrections and advice that is so useful to improving your ability. I highly recommend these classes to anyone that has wanted to take ballet or return after many years. You won’t regret it!
