You are expanding physical capacity safely and intelligently.

Recommended frequency: 2 or 3 + classes per week

Ideal for: Adults with consistent training history seeking advanced technical and artistic development or returning after a small break from full time or intensive training

Level 5 — Intermediate Classical Ballet

90 minutes

A return to complexity, refinement, and fuller classical expression.

Level 5 is designed for adult dancers with an established technical foundation who are ready to work at a more intermediate level within a structured and supportive environment.

This level is well suited to adults who have trained in ballet previously and wish to return to more complex classical work, as well as current ABC dancers progressing from Level 4 Classical Development with teacher guidance.

You should feel comfortable participating in a full classical ballet class from barre through to centre practice, including allegro and more sustained combinations.

At this level, dancers refine:

  • intermediate classical vocabulary

  • more complex pirouettes and turning sequences

  • medium and grand allegro

  • adage with greater composure and control

  • musical responsiveness and dynamic contrast

  • technical stamina across a full class

Level 5 supports dancers in reclaiming and strengthening elements of their earlier training while continuing to build confidence, consistency, and artistry in the adult body.

This is not about professional pressure.
It is about returning to ballet with intelligence, support, and renewed purpose.

More complex combinations, shifting tempos, and longer phrases begin to feel more integrated. Technique becomes more expansive, and dancers are encouraged to move with greater freedom, clarity, and expression.

Recommended frequency: 2–3 classes per week
Ideal for: adults with previous ballet training, or current ABC dancers progressing from Level 4 with teacher guidance

Level 6 — Advanced Classical Ballet

90 minutes

For experienced adult dancers seeking depth, challenge, and artistic refinement.

Level 6 is designed for adult dancers with substantial classical ballet training who wish to continue working at an advanced level in a structured, supportive, and non-competitive environment.

This level is suited to dancers with a strong technical foundation, typically including many years of previous classical ballet training, and to experienced ABC dancers progressing through the Soar pathway with teacher guidance.

At this stage, dancers are expected to feel confident in a full advanced classical ballet class and ready to work with greater complexity, speed, stamina, and artistic range.

This level develops:

  • advanced turns and more demanding pirouette sequences

  • intricate footwork and complex allegro

  • sustained adage with control and composure

  • dynamic contrast and advanced musical responsiveness

  • performance quality, projection, and artistic depth

  • technical stamina across a demanding full class

Level 6 offers adult dancers the opportunity to continue refining their technique while keeping personal growth, artistry, and the joy of dancing at the centre of their training.

This is not about professional pressure.
It is about continuing to train at a high level with purpose, passion, and integrity.

Combinations become more layered, phrasing becomes more nuanced, and dancers are encouraged to work with greater clarity, responsiveness, and expressive maturity.

Recommended frequency: 2–3+ classes per week
Ideal for: adults with extensive previous ballet training, or experienced ABC dancers progressing through the Soar pathway with teacher guidance
