Whether you are beginning ballet for the first time, returning after years away, or finally acting on a lifelong curiosity, Steady provides a clear and supportive entry into classical training.
You are not expected to “already know.”
You are guided by us and welcomed to the studio.
Who Steady Is Designed For
Steady is ideal for adults who:
• Have never trained in classical ballet
• Trained years ago and are returning
• Want structured progression rather than casual drop-in classes
• Prefer learning in an adult-only environment
• Value discipline delivered with respect and warmth and fun
There is no required body type.
There is no required flexibility.
There is no age ceiling.
Many of our dancers begin in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond.
The Steady Program is designed specifically for adults beginning ballet for the first time or returning after a long break. It removes traditional intimidation and replaces it with a warm welcome and clarity

Our Level 1 and Level 2 programs are thoughtfully designed to support adults starting ballet with clarity, confidence, and professional guidance.
Level 1 Introduction to Classical Ballet
Level 1 - Introduction to Classical Ballet (60 minutes)
Created for absolute beginners.
You will learn:
• The Basic classical ballet positions
• Foundational ballet vocabulary
• Safe posture and alignment
• How a ballet class is structured
• Musical awareness and timing
No prior dance experience is required. you will be with other people that have never taken a ballet class in the past
This level builds confidence, understanding and strength before transitioning into a full 90-minute classical class.
What to Bring and wear
You are welcome to attend class in comfortable movement clothing such as activewear, yoga wear, or dancewear. There is no expectation to wear traditional ballet attire.
Please bring:
• Ballet shoes (or socks for your first classes if you are still getting started)
• A drink bottle
• A small bag for your shoes and personal items
• If attending back-to-back classes, a light snack that can be stored in the kitchenette between sessions
To support a comfortable shared studio environment, the Adult Ballet Centre provides deodorant and refresher wipes in the powder room for dancers wishing to freshen up before class.
Our studios are designed to ensure every dancer feels prepared, comfortable, and confident when training.
Level 2 Foundation Beginners
Level 2 – Foundation Beginners (90 minutes)
A traditional classical class structure designed for adults ready to consolidate technique.
You will develop:
• Barre fluency
• Centre coordination
• Controlled balances
• Foundational allegro
• Strength and stamina
Most dancers remain in Steady for several months as their technique and confidence grow.
Recommended frequency: 1–2 classes per week
Ideal for: Adults new to ballet or returning after extended time away.

Conditioning Classes
