Australasia Adult Ballet Competition & Festival 2027

Presented by Adult Ballet Centre®, the AABC Adult Ballet Competition & Festival 2027 brings adult ballet and contemporary dancers together for a dedicated weekend of training, repertoire, performance and professional recognition.
Created exclusively for adult dancers, AABC welcomes participants across a broad range of experience levels — from dancers preparing for their first stage experience through to advanced dancers and those with former vocational or professional training.
Who Can Participate?
The AABC Competition & Festival is designed for adult dancers across different training backgrounds and stages of their ballet journey.
The program welcomes:
Adult ballet dancers
Contemporary dancers
Beginner and developing performers
Intermediate and advanced dancers
Dancers returning to performance
Former vocational and professional dancers
Adult dancers travelling from interstate and internationally
Participation in the full weekend is not required. Dancers can select the festival experiences that best suit their interests, level and availability.

The Australasia Adult Ballet Competition & Festival is presented by Adult Ballet Centre®, Melbourne’s adult-only classical ballet centre.
AABC extends the Adult Ballet Centre philosophy beyond weekly studio training — creating opportunities for adult dancers to train seriously, develop artistry, perform, connect with other dancers and have their commitment recognised within a professionally presented environment.
Festival studio activities are held at Adult Ballet Centre in Cheltenham, with the competition presented at Shirley Burke Theatre in Parkdale.

Visiting dancers can train within Adult Ballet Centre’s established Saturday program, joining professionally structured classes suited to their experience and training level.

Theatre, Performance & Recognition
Adult ballet and contemporary dancers take to the stage at Shirley Burke Theatre, Parkdale, with professional adjudication, structured competition sections and an included on-stage warm-up experience.
